Roberta I. Renzelli-Cain, DO, MHS, NCMP, FACOG was a former Obstetrics and Gynecology Resident and faculty member at WVU-Medicine. She has rejoined the WVU Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology and is the Director of the Nationally Designated Center of Excellence in Women’s Health. WV is proudly one of 20 Centers for Excellence in Women’s Health in the United States, designated by the United States Department of Health and Human Services. The Center of Excellence is dedicated to providing evidence based health care, social programs for the underserved and behavioral change to promote wellness for females throughout childhood, adolescence, child bearing, mid-life and beyond.
Most recently, Dr. Renzelli-Cain comes to us from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania where she served as the Medical Director of the Allegheny Health Network’s FOR WOMEN, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Center for Integrative Health. The center provided women of all ages an individualized approach to health and wellness. Dr. Renzelli-Cain’s practice focused on developing self-esteem in Adolescents, as well as Advanced Maternal Age Pregnancies, Midlife Medicine and Sexual Health.
In 2013, Dr. Renzelli-Cain was invited by the Peters Township School District in McMurray, PA, for her work in Adolescent and Sexual Health, to develop a comprehensive Sex Education program. This program was endorsed by Highmark Health and is currently being used district wide. The program provides age appropriate sex education beginning in the 5th grade and continues until graduation from high school. The program is currently being used as a model in several public school system in the South Hills of Pittsburgh, PA.
